UPDATE: South Shore train service resumed

ABC 57

UPDATE: As of 10:18 a.m., South Shore Line power and train service have been restored. Westbound Train 22 has departed the South Bend International Airport.

Other trains will depart from East Chicago and Miller stations shortly thereafter.

ORIGINAL STORY: LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Due to overhead wire issues west of Hegewisch, all South Shore train service is stopped Thursday.

The South Shore Line normally runs from the South Bend International Airport, through La Porte County, and to Chicago.

Crews are on the scene, working to restore power, but the estimated time to restore train service is still unknown.
