ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Council voted in favor of overriding the veto by county commissioners that would have ended the mask ordinance in the county. The council's decision on Friday means the mask ordinance will remain in effect through May 27.
On April 13, the council voted in favor of extending the mask mandate through May 27.
On April 20, the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners vetoed the council's mask mandate.
On Friday, the council held a special meeting to override the veto.
The override vote passed by a 7-1 margin.
