SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Margaret's House announced Wednesday that it is continuing its annual Winter Walk for its 27th year running on Sunday.

The Winter Walk raises funds and awareness for the women who rely on walking as their primary means of transportation.

The 27th Winter Walk comes during a renovation project for St. Margaret House as it works to increase the building's size by close to 50 percent.

The one-mile Winter Walk will start at 1 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot south of St. Margaret's House on Washington Street near Lafayette Boulevard, which is the site of the new front entrance once renovations have been completed.

The Winter Walk will end at South Bend City Church, where a rally and a warm-up celebration will take place, with cookies, hot cocoa, popcorn, plus a Silk Creations Pop-up Shop will be available.
