St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt and World Water Day celebration
Elkhart County Parks ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks invites families to celebrate March with two family-friendly events packed with adventure, discovery, and a splash of learning.
The first event will be a St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt from 4 to 7 p.m. on March 17 at Ox Bow County Park. Families can choose their own style of fun: tackle the Clue Challenge, solving riddles and tracking down hidden shamrocks, or try the Creative Family Hunt, a playful activity perfect for teams that love imagination and exploration. Light refreshments and small "pot of gold" prizes await, you can learn more about the scavenger hunt here.
Later in the month, the celebration continues with World Water Day on March 22 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Elkhart County Historical Museum. This event celebrates the importance of water with hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and interactive learning for all ages. Visitors can explore engaging activities like the Incredible Journey, Enviroscape, and a watershed model, get up close with water animals and macroinvertebrates, test their skills in the H2Olympics, try their luck with water trivia, and enjoy mini hikes to the river.
The event is presented in partnership with the Elkhart County Soil & Water Conservation District, Elkhart Environmental Center, Goshen Department of Stormwater Management, Middlebury Parks, and the Greater Elkhart County Stormwater Partnership, bringing together local experts who help protect our water resources.
