Stargazers gearing up for May Star Party in Cass County

Vandalia, Mich.— The Michiana Astronomical Society is hosting a party for stargazers this May.

The society is holding its 11th annual Star Party at the Dr. T.K. Lawless Park located at 15122 Monkey Run in Vandalia, Michigan on May 31 and June 2.

The stargazing event runs from 3 p.m. Friday, May 31 to 11 a.m. Sunday, June 2. 

The weekend-long event features camping, hiking, constellation tours, vendors, speakers and more; high-quality telescopes will also be available for the public.

Amateur astronomers are expected to attend from four states, according to organizers.

Complimentary hot chocolate, bottled water, coffee, popcorn and hotdogs will be provided by MAS. 

Pre-registration costs are $25 for adult non-members, $15 for Adult MAS members and free for those under the age of 18. Prices may vary for at the gate registration.
