Stolen trailer recovered following suspicious vehicle investigation

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- Deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle and located a trailer stolen from Elkhart County, along with stolen property, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were called to the area of Lutz Road near M86 on May 15 to investigate a suspicious vehicle complaint. Three Rivers Police located the vehicle at the American Legion.

The pickup truck was pulling an enclosed trailer, which had been stolen earlier that day from Elkhart County.

The owners were contacted and identified some items of property that had originally been in the trailer but were found in the pickup truck, deputies said.

The suspect was identified as a 28-year-old man from White Pigeon.
