SOUH BEND, Ind. -- This year marks the 50th anniversary of the most famous Great Lakes shipwreck: the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank in a storm on November 10, 1975, on Lake Superior.

The Studebaker National Museum is hosting its Speaker Series: Great Lakes Shipwrecks: 50 Years Since the Edmund Fitzgerald presented by Travis Childs, Archivist and St. Joseph County Historian.

During the presentation, Travis Childs will highlight some of the most notable shipwrecks among the thousands lost, weaving together stories of maritime courage, disaster, and discovery that continue to capture the public’s imagination.

This event takes place on Wednesday, November 19, at 1:30 P.M in the Wiekamp Auditorium.

Admission is $2 and is free to Studebaker National Museum members and Campus members. Refreshments will follow the presentation.
