Ways to be prepared for severe weather
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Due to popular demand, the South Bend Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy is introducing a spring session this year, and it starts on March 5!
Sergeant Jarveair Bourn from SBPD stopped by the studio Thursday morning to talk about the academy and why he thinks it’s important for residents to take part in it.
The spring session runs from March 5 through May 7. During the course, participants will learn about different units of the police department through hands-on, interactive lessons.
The experience is free, and classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday.
You must be 18 years or older to participate and must agree to a criminal background check.
