Suspect enters guilty plea agreement for role in shooting of 27-year-old

Keithus Giden III SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Court documents from St. Joseph County reveal 21-year-old Keithus Giden III enter was in court Thursday where he entered a plea agreement for Voluntary Manslaughter.
Giden requested a speedy trial that was set for Nov. 17. He'll now be sentenced on Dec. 17.
Giden was originally charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, Murder, following the Aug. 10 shooting of 27-year-old Jaylin Micou at My Place Bar & Grill on Portage Avenue in South Bend.
Micou was shot in the neck according to the official police report.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he became dependent on machines to breathe and maintain vital functions, with irreversible loss of brain functions resulting in cerebral death.
Micou was later pronounced dead.
