Teen attempts record breaking endurance swims

A teen from New Jersey is attempting to become the youngest swimmer ever to complete three endurance ocean swims.

Charlotte Samuels finished swimming the Catalina Island Channel Monday night, a 20 mile swim that clocked in at 20 hours.

It was her second swim of three.

When she arrived on land she said she had not slept for two days.

Samuels encountered strong currents and several jellyfish stings but that did not slow her down.

"Between 12 and 14 hours. The conditions out there are not easy conditions," said Suzanne Samuels discussing her daughter's swim.

Charlotte has one more swim scheduled across the English Channel.

If she successfully completes the third swim she will go down in history.
