The now 15-year-old suspect, Mason Schoen, is charged with two counts of Murder, as Felonies.
He was waived to adult court on June 30, according to the La Porte County Circuit Court.
Schoen is alleged to have killed Nixon and White on or around Oct. 19, 2025, when he was 14.
Schoen appeared in La Porte County court Tuesday via Zoom, where he entered a not guilty plea. No bond was issued.
Schoen's next hearing is Aug. 27, with his final pre-trial conference set for Nov. 12, ahead of his jury trial scheduled for Dec. 14.
The probable cause affidavit in this case reveals the La Porte County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Johnson Road and C.R. West 300 North in La Porte around 1:11 a.m., on Oct. 19, 2025.
Upon arrival, Schoen was found to be one of the drivers involved in the crash.
Court documents state Schoen told a deputy on scene that the car he was driving belonged to White before saying, "I killed two people."
First responders were then sent to the home of Nixon and White in the 100 block of Schofield Court, where they were found dead. The manner of death for each was determined to be homicide.
While being taken to the Michigan City Police Department, Schoen allegedly told the deputy, "You'll find $420 in the car. Make sure it gets back to South Emanuel Church on South wind and Main."
At around 5 a.m., Schoen was taken to Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City to be medically cleared due to the crash.
When being handcuffed by an officer, it was noted that what appeared to be blood on Schoen's left wrist, his pants, hooded sweater, and right foot.
When being examined, a nurse asked Schoen if the blood on his sweater and sock were from the crash, he allegedly said, "No."
Authorities later determined White was active in the church and would collect money for the church along with managing money made from events like a church fry.
After speaking with a member of the church, it was learned White would often bring her foster children to church.
That same church member informed investigators the church was missing between $300 and $390 at the time.
