Teen who shot 10-year-old at Castle Point apartments headed to residential program

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --  A juvenile who shot a 10-year-old girl at a party has been placed on indefinite probation, must complete a treatment program at residential facility and must participate in an after-care program before returning to the community, according to the judge's dispositional decree.

The 15-year-old suspect shot a 10-year-old in the face at the Castle Point Apartments on July 3, reports said.

The teen previously admitted to all of the counts filed in the petition alleging delinquency in juvenile court.

The decree says the teen is now on strict and indefinite probation, must participate in and complete placement at Transitions Academy in Indianapolis and will remain on probation after release from the academy. Once released, he must participate in a six month after-care program to monitor his transition back to the community.
