Teen with Down syndrome climbs Mount Everest

MOUNT EVEREST -- An Oregon teen is celebrating a big accomplishment.

The 15-year-old is the first person with Down syndrome to climb to the base camp of Mount Everest.

The teen made the climb with his dad last week and now they are sharing the amazing video they brought back from Nepal.

His dad says when everyone else was dragging; his son was leading the way.

"We're able to celebrate that as we departed Kathmandu with him just completing something that as far as we know, no other teen with Down syndrome has done, so it's monumental," said Justin Reimer, teen's father.

The father and son are back home now after a large crowd welcomed them back to America.
