GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Salvation Army kicks off it's 'Red Kettle' fundraising campaign, with this year's theme 'Hope for Tomorrow'.
The event happened at the Goshen Salvation Army Corps, with the annual fundraising campaign supporting community-focused programs and emergency assistance requests among those in need throughout the whole year.
"And we look forward to a wonderful season of fundraising. I am excited this year. I have hope that our fundraising is going to do better than it ever has before, and folks, we need it. We need your help to accomplish that as well," stated Major at Salvation Army Tim Nauta.
“We look forward to providing countless families hope for the future through our programs and services this Christmas season. The need is not limited to Christmas and the plan is to raise enough funds that will support emergency assistance and programming all year."
The goal of both the Elkhart and Goshen campaigns is to raise a combined $695,000.
"This year’s theme focuses on giving hope to those who are in need of it," organizers said. "Salvation Army leadership invited the community to get involved by ringing bells."
