Thieves break in and steal scrap from South Bend cemetery

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Monday night thieves broke into a fenced area at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.

They took off with bronze and brass, grave markers, vases and an aluminum ramp. Police say they took them to sell as scrap, but it turns out the goods were old and damaged.

They were only worth about $500.
