Thousands attend Westside's 99th Memorial Day Parade

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Thousands of people gathered along the streets on the Westside to pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
The 99th Annual South Bend Westside Memorial Day parade kicked off at 8:15 a.m. along Ford Street. They then made their way east on Ford Street from Lombardy Drive to Olive Street.
This year's theme was "We Remember, We Honor, We Salute."
After the parade, a memorial mass and service was held at St. Joseph cemetery at 10:15 a.m., followed by military honors and the reading of the names of deceased veterans in St. Joseph County for the year.
