Thousands of Michiganders to lose food stamps under new state requirements

MICHIGAN -- Thousands of Michigan residents will soon lose their food stamps under new state requirements!

Starting Oct. 1, those with assets of more than $5,000 in the bank or property won't be eligible for food assistance.

Right now, nearly 20-percent of Michiganders use food stamps.

The state already has asset tests for welfare cash or Medicaid.
