ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Wednesday, January 17, 2024
Tonight, will not be as cold across Michiana. Temperatures will stay in the teens tonight and wind chills will remain above zero heading into Thursday. Snow will develop late tonight and move through Thursday morning. Snow will be falling during the Thursday morning commute, with accumulations of around two to three inches possible by early tomorrow afternoon. There will be a lull in the snow until Thursday night when another round of snow will move in. Another inch or two of snow is possible into Friday morning. Then, lake effect snow takes over, with a dominant band of potentially heavy snow swinging into Michiana by Friday afternoon. Portions of Berrien County in Michigan and LaPorte and St. Joseph counties in Indiana have the best chance of seeing significant lake effect snow. Snow should end Saturday morning, setting up a mostly quiet but cold weekend. We'll likely see our below-freezing streak come to an end on Monday as next week looks milder but rainy.
Tonight: Not as cold with snow developing. Low 14.
Tomorrow: Snow in the morning, then cloudy. High 24.
Friday: Snow in the morning, then snow near Lake Michigan during the afternoon and evening. High 20.
Saturday: A chance of snow showers, mainly in the morning. High 18.
