Tips to keep your car looking new

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- With sloppy roads ABC57 wanted to know the best way to keep your car looking new and pass along the information to you.

Workers at Karl Weis Auto Body Shop told us it is just as important to keep salt off the inside of your car as it is the outside.  The salt can do damage to your carpet and upholstery.

Once old man winter has left, you should have the inside detailed.

They also say to get a coat of wax on your car when it is done snowing for the season.

"People are seeing the salt wash off their cars. Starting to see some scrape marks, dents. As soon as you have corrosion starting you start to see some orange blistering. You want to get that taken care of as soon as you can because it will just lead to more damage," said Dennis Orlowski, Karl Weis Auto Body Shop.

Potholes can cause problems too. Bent rims and suspension problems can lead to larger problems if they are not fixed.
