Trial underway for Indianapolis boy who shot his own brother

INDIANAPOLIS -- Tuesday in Indianapolis, a trial got underway for the young boy accused of gunning down his baby brother.



The boy was just 11 at the time of the deadly Martinsville shooting.



Today, his lawyer said he didn't realize the gun was loaded when it went off and killed his 6-year-old brother in June,



But according to 9-1-1 tapes, the boy told a police dispatcher the younger boy shot himself.



The now 12-year-old is charged as a juvenile. If convicted, he could still face several years in detention.
