Two drivers taken to the hospital following crash on State Road 120 in Elkhart

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A two-vehicle crash leaves two drivers injured, one in serious condition, at the intersection of State Road 120 and State Road 13 on Tuesday, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene of the crash around 4:36 am.

According to the crash report, a 2013 Hyundai Accent was traveling east on SR 120, approaching the intersection of SR 13. The second vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Cavalier was heading west on SR 120, also approaching the intersection of SR 13.

The Hyundai allegedly tried to make a left turn in front of the Chevy, but the Hyundai crashed into the Chevy, deputies said.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for their injuries. The driver of the Chevy suffered serious head and neck injuries following the crash.

Both drivers were also cited for the crash, according to deputies. The driver of the Hyundai was cited for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection and driving without ever receiving a license. The driver of the Chevy was cited for driving while a license was suspended – prior.
