Two Indianapolis medics killed
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Indianapolis mayor delayed his annual State of the City address to honor two medics killed in a weekend crash.
Tim McCormick and Cody Medley died Saturday when a driver ran a red light and flipped their ambulance on its side.
Monday, family and friends left flowers and cards at the crash site. The mayor asked all flags be lowered to half staff.
"This is a good time to be hugging your family, a good time to be talking to each other, a good time to be together because life is precious and life can be short," said Mayor Greg Ballard.
To honor the fallen medics, Indianapolis EMS workers have started a petition. They want to re-name the roads at the crash site to Medley and McCormick streets.
