Two injured following Tuesday morning crash, driver cited

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of S.R. 19 and C.R. 42 around 7:55 a.m., Tuesday, for a two-vehicle crash.

The report states a 2020 Ford EcoSport, driven by 81-year-old Herold Drake of Wakarusa, was traveling east on C.R. 42 toward the intersection with S.R. 19

Authorities say Drake then disregarded a stop sign before colliding into a 2017 Buick Envision, driven by a 25-year-old Nappanee woman.

Drake and the other driver were taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be evaluated.

Drake was bleeding from his face, while the other driver suffered bleeding from her forehead and nose.

Drake was cited for Disregarding a Stop Sign.
