Two shootings reported near Michigan State University campus

EAST LANSING, Mich. --  Police in East Lansing are trying to figure out if a pair of shootings are connected.

According to the Lansing State Journal somebody walked into a Rite Aid and shot an employee in the face.

Then just minutes later, a second shooting was reported off the campus of Michigan State but less than two miles away from that store.

University officials did send out an alert to students warning anyone who might be near either scene to be careful and secure in place but no university buildings were ever on lock-down.
