SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Unity Gardens held Haircuts and Hotcakes on Sunday bringing haircuts to local families in need.
Local barbers were brought out to provide free haircuts to the kids in need, and volunteers cooked up free pancakes and hotdogs for families to enjoy.
The event took place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Randy Miller, Unity Gardens volunteer manager, stated, "I mean, we live in a time when things are tight. You know, haircuts ten years ago were ten bucks, now they're 2030 depending on where you go. So, to be able to come and not only get a free haircut and get some food in that but also be able to connect with those in your local community and meet people and just interact. You know, everybody today is on social media and scrolling when you can actually meet face to face with some people, make some new friends in that it's a great thing."
