UPDATE: Viacom and DirecTV have reached an agreement

UPDATE:  DirecTV and Viacom have reached a new long-term agreement.

According to a press release issued by DirecTV, the new agreement restores all 17 networks. In addition, the new agreement will allow DirecTV customers to watch programming via laptops, tablets and smart phones via the DirecTV Everywhere Platform.

Earlier this week, DirecTV stated that at Viacom demanded that they pick up the movie channel EPIX before a new agreement could be reached. The new agreement does not requiire the satellite company to pick up the network.

Last week, all Viacom networks were removed from DirectTV, including popular channels like MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
