Veggie Van making its way to Benton Harbor this week
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – The Veggie Van, a mobile farmer’s market featuring locally grown produce, will be making stops in Benton Harbor to offer free, healthy foods and nutrition information to the community.
100 bags of produce will be handed out at each event on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The first event will be this Friday, May 21 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Center for Better Health at 100 W. Main St. Bags will be given out drive-through style, so participants should stay in their vehicles. Free personal protective equipment kits will also be available to those attending the event.
The second event will take place on Tuesday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at McCoy’s Memorial Church at 840 Union Ave. This event is in partnership with the Berrien County Health Department and will be held during a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Vaccination walk-ins and appointments will be accepted at this clinic.
