Veteran who served in Iraq honored as Hero of the Month

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A man who served our country fighting in Iraq got a special honor in Mishawaka. Chris Mola now serves as an Army recruiter and was honored Friday as Hero of the Month.

"No I had no idea. I did recognize Jim and the other realtors in the Homes for Heroes program, but I had no idea this was what was going to come of it, no," said Mola. "It makes you feel great."

The vet says his wife actually nominated him.

From there, he was chosen for the award.

Mola says his wife nominating him means a lot and shows she cares and supports him 100 percent.
