Man shot in hand during reported fight

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—A person with a gunshot wound walked into a local hospital early Wednesday morning.

Dispatch confirmed that a 53-year-old man walked into Memorial Hospital around 12:30 a.m. with a wound to the hand and was treated and released.

According to police, the victim was in a physical fight with a known male. The suspect pulled out a gun, which went off, hitting the victim in the hand.

The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday on the 100 block of Haney Avenue.

The suspect is not in custody.
