LAPORTE, Ind. -- The LaPorte School District is slapped with an $18.7 million lawsuit.
The family of a 15-year-old girl who slept with her volleyball coach said school officials are to blame.
The girl's family said they ignored signs that the two were involved in a relationship.
Two school employees have been charged with failing to report the sex crimes.
Robert Ashcraft, a former employee at LaPorte High School, was sentenced to 21 years in prison last July.
The superintendent declined to comment on the lawsuit.
