WASHINGTON, D.C. -- ABC 57’s Jess Arnold continues her Get Wet for a Vet Welcome Home Tour coverage Friday night with a stop at Arlington Cemetery.
Before the group gets to touch and see the Vietnam Memorial Wall Saturday morning, they remembered what they fought for in the first place.
Several of the veterans had never been to the nation’s cemetery.
Kent Laudeman told ABC 57’s Jess Arnold, "You're looking at the three soldiers doing the changing of the guard, and emotionally it just hits you. You begin to think backwards on the 58,000 plus. Why are you standing there because everybody else made it home? And it's probably some guilt feelings, friends that you've lost. Friends that you haven't seen since."
The tour continues Saturday morning at 8 a.m. when the 42 veterans finally see the wall.
