Volkswagen issues vehicle recall

The German car maker Volkswagen announced a recall Friday that impacts about 91,000 vehicles.

Impacted by the recall are the diesel engine Passat Sedans. They have been recalled because of insufficient cable insulation that could cause short circuits and potentially lead to fires.

Volkswagen found the problem when several underbody fires happened at a factory. The cars being recalled were assembled between 2012-2014. The dealer plans to fix the problem by installing a new part that is properly sealed.
