Volunteers feed the homeless on Easter
SOUTH BEND, Ind.--While many in Michiana celebrated Easter with a dinner, surrounded by family and friends, there are some that may not have been so lucky.
New Carlisle Wesleyan Church put their faith into action Sunday by preparing and serving more than one hundred meals to Michiana’s homeless population.
Volunteers affiliated with the ministry say serving the homeless on a holiday like Easter means a lot to them.
“I just feel more blessed every time I come, and I realize how fortunate I have been through nothing I have done, and I think the name of this place Hope, where would I rather be on Easter than a place that is named for hope,” said volunteer Donna Vermillion.
