NILES, Mich. -- More than 100 people volunteered on Thursday to pick up debris and trash left by February's historic flooding.
The volunteers included 40 students from Cedar Lane Alternative School.
This is the second year the community has come together to clean up the riverfront.
"I love to help out my community, you know. I love it when people come in from like you know South Bend, or even places like far away. I like to make everything look good to make people feel good," Sidney Sweet, a volunteer, said.
The day of service was organized by IGS Energy.
