Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival cancelled
The Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival has been canceled for 2020 the organizers announced on their Facebook page Friday.
The annual festival was scheduled to be held on April 24, 25 and 26.
Here's the post from their Facebook page:
Good Morning! We hope you all are safe, healthy and supportive of everyone doing their part to help our community in this uncertain time. A big question we’ve received over these last few weeks is the status of our upcoming Maple Syrup Festival.
We have made the decision to cancel the festival for this year. While we are hopeful stores, restaurants and parks will reopen in the near future, we understand that community-wide gatherings of our size may be out of the question for an extended period of time.
Change and uncertainty can be unsettling and create a lot of legitimate worry - but we are thankful to live in a community where grace, understanding and support are in abundance. We are thankful for our community and look forward to a great 2021 festival! In the meantime, please continue to support everyone who is on the front lines of controlling this global issue.
