Wall of heroes saved from tax sale

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Wall of Heroes has been saved. Last month, ABC57 told you about the Elkhart memorial on the verge of financial collapse.

The memorial is dedicated to fallen service and public safety members.

The owner owed back taxes on the property but thanks to donations, those taxes have been paid for this year and next.

"I believe in a lot of prayer so I prayed to God.  So, one night in bed, God says, reach out to the public and that's what I done. I had a lot of real good response," said Donald Fisher.

Fisher says he hopes to work with Elkhart city leaders to make the memorial better.
