What's in store for final day of the DNC

CHICAGO -- Thursday is the fourth and final day of the Democratic National Convention.

After a week filled with speeches from the Democratic Party’s most influential voices, the spotlight now turns to Vice President Kamala Harris as she prepares to accept her party's nomination tonight.

Harris is expected to lay out her vision and policy agenda, addressing the American people in what is being called a pivotal moment for the campaign.

The theme for this final night is "For Our Future," a message organizers hope will resonate with voters across the nation.

Last Friday, Harris rolled out her first major policy initiative, an economic plan aimed at reducing the cost of living for working- and middle-class Americans.

Civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton is also expected to take the stage to address the crowd alongside other prominent leaders, all hammering in these policies.

Another keynote speaker is Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Whitmer is set to make a compelling case for Harris as the ideal candidate for the presidency, while also highlighting her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and their shared vision for the nation.

In a recent interview, Whitmer mentioned how honored she was to be considered for the Vice-Presidential role, but she made it clear from the start that she fully supports Harris and her choice of running mate.

She expressed her hope to cast her vote to re-elect Harris and Walz in 2028 rather than pursuing a presidential run herself.

However, she noted that it’s too early to make any plans about her political future beyond that.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, who spoke earlier Wednesday night, also made a strong endorsement for the Harris-Walz ticket, emphasizing the importance of LGBTQ rights and praising Harris for her long-standing support of the community.
