Wife of George Zimmerman files for divorce

SANFORD, Fla. — The wife of George Zimmerman is filing for divorce.
An attorney for Shellie Zimmerman confirmed the couple's marriage is over.
The divorce filing comes less than two months after George Zimmerman was acquitted for killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
According to court documents, Shellie is deeply in debt. She owes more than $90,000 to creditors.
Her lawyer says she's asking for an equitable distribution of the couple's assets.
