Those temperatures in the 50s and 60s tomorrow and Thursday would typically be warm enough to see all kinds of bugs hatch and show up in some capacity around Michiana! However, our saving grace will likely be the length of the warm-up. These spring-like temps won't be staying around that long so any bugs that become a little active tomorrow and Thursday will go away again afterwards. So, they'll be fooled a little bit by a "false spring".

Typically, with temps in the low 40s, that's too cold for them to be outside. By 45 to 50 degrees, they'll start moving around a little bit, and only become more and more active the highs warm up from there. And, we really start seeing the 50s come back to the 10-day forecast by late March. Also, if we were to boost up into the 70s for a while thanks to an early hot start to spring, that could help increase the total amount of bugs we see through the entire spring and summer seasons. Fortunately, that's not the case so far.

But, for the bug-cast today and the rest of this week, don't expect to see many bugs outside by Thursday, even though it's the right temperature. And afterwards, they'll be gone again. But again, be ready to see more and more bug activity as the calendar flips to April, along with some other spring-like symptoms too, such as allergies.
