SOUTH BEND, Ind.- Amid the health advisories for the extreme heat, workers were still outside Thursday, building, landscaping and fixing roads.
In at least one case in downtown South Bend, workers were pouring asphalt on LaSalle Avenue.
Construction workers were busy building the future student housing off S. Bend Avenue on Vaness Street. Workers said they were tackling the heat with water and breaks.
“At what point does it get so hot or unbearable that you call this whole thing off?” ABC57 Annie Kate asked asphalt foreman, Derek Jackson.
“I don’t know, we haven’t done that yet. So, we’ll see. Not yet,” Jackson said.
