Workshop Series launches for Kennedy Park and Rum Village Neighborhood plans

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The City of South Bend is inviting residents to attend a series of neighborhood planning workshops starting on Tuesday for the Kennedy Park neighborhood and Thursday for the Rum Village neighborhood.

“This year, our team is tackling the development of four neighborhood plans, including three on the City’s west side,” said Santiago Garces, executive director of the Department of Community Investment. “These plans help set a course for neighborhoods, and it is so important that as many voices as possible are involved in the planning process.”

There will be two workshops for each neighborhood – a visioning and priorities workshop.

These workshops will allow for residents to give ideas for their neighborhood’s housing, infrastructure, land use, amenities and other key topics. With the results of the workshops, it will help the city determine the neighborhood’s most important projects, policies and programs.
