MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- On Tuesday, Dec. 23, a couple of local organizers of Scouting America participated in a wreath placement ceremony at Fairview Cemetery.
The previous ceremony, about a week and half ago, they were not able to place all of the wreaths due to the snow.
Now with improved weather, it allows for full coverage of the wreaths.
The ceremony emphasizes the importance of remembering the sacrifices of veterans and fostering a sense of community, particularly by involving youth and connecting with living veterans.
Michaela Duffy, Scouting America volunteer, stated, "It's a really exciting day, actually, for the first time since we've been involved and our local organizers, we have 100 percent coverage for the wreaths that have been donated for Fairview Cemetery. So, it's one of those blessing in disguise."
