18-year-old arrested for alleged April armed robbery in Mishawaka

St. Joseph County Jail

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- One man is in custody for an alleged armed robbery in Mishawaka earlier this year.

18-year-old Lashawn Tillman was booked last night, June 29.

The alleged robbery happened April 17 on 318 Union Street. Investigators say the victim was allegedly robbed during a meetup to film a music video. The victim alleges that he went to the Old Foundry, where four people pointed guns at him. He says they took his phone, car keys, camera, and a handgun. Documents say the suspects dropped the victim's car keys and phone as they were running away.

On May 3, officers executed a search warrant on a home belonging to Tillman at 214 Baker Street. This was after officers say there was a vehicle pursuit where multiple people bailed out of the car and ran in that general area. Investigators say an iPhone found in the vehicle showed "Lashawn's iPhone" on the lock screen.

Officials say a warrant for the phone's contents turned up a video of Lashawn allegedly holding a gun and camera that matched what the victim had on him. According to investigators, the video was taken about 10 minutes before the alleged robbery was reported to police.

Tillman has not yet been scheduled to appear in court.
