90-year-old dies after crash on SR 19 and CR 26

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver involved in a crash at SR 19 and CR 26 died at the hospital, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.

The crash happened Wednesday around 7:45 a.m.

Deputies say 90-year-old Mary Pleasant was in the southbound lane lanes of SR 19 when she turned east onto CR 26 and her vehicle was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on SR 19.

The two vehicles then hit a vehicle stopped on CR26 at the intersection with SR19.

Pleasant was transported to the hospital with a cut to her right leg and back pain. Deputies say she died at the hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with injuries to his head and shoulder.

The driver of the vehicle stopped on CR26 was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
