SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Community members gathered to remember the life of Jamecia Moffitt.

The Onsite Prayer Ministry hosted a prayer vigil Thursday evening for 35-year-old Moffit, who was brutally beaten and killed on Feb. 28 in South Bend.

The vigil was held at the corner of Kemble and West Ewing Streets.

On Site Prayer Ministry is a group that holds monthly vigils for people violently killed.

EDITORIAL NOTE: A previous version stated Moffitt was shot and killed on Feb. 28. That is inaccurate. She was severely beaten Feb. 28 and later died from her injuries.
