A one-year-old child suffers injuries after being thrown from a van

GARY, Ind. – A one –year-old child is hospitalized in Gary Indiana with injuries after he was not properly restrained in his car safety seat.
The driver of the van, 38 year-old Larry Lathan of Chicago, Illinois, was cited for driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injuries and neglect of a dependent, according to the Indiana State Police.
Lathan drove off the road while heading east on Interstate 80 and I-94.
The van rolled at least one time before ending up in a ditch.
