CASS COUNTY, Mich. – A pursuit involving the Middlebury Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office ended with an overturned vehicle and injuries on Thursday afternoon.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a call requesting their assistance in a pursuit out of Middlebury at 1:25 p.m. on Thursday.
Reports show that Chase Ryan Rohm, 30-year-old of Three Rivers, Michigan, was fleeing police on M-40 near Hoffman Road in Newburg Township.
While avoiding stop sticks, Rohm lost control of his vehicle which caused him to crash into an electrical pole and overturn the vehicle.
Rohm was transported to Three Rivers Hospital with injuries suffered from the crash.
It is unknown if seatbelts were used, and drugs may have been a factor.
The crash currently remains under investigation.
