Adams High School placed under brief lockdown this afternoon
UPDATE: According to a statement from Adams High School, at 3:22 p.m. the school was put on lockdown for an alleged report that an individual was outside of the school building with a gun.
"All safety protocols and procedures were immediately followed," stated James R. Seitz, Adams High School principal.
The South Bend Police Department canvased the area and found it secure.
The lockdown was lifted, and students were released at 3:40 p.m.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Around 3:15 this afternoon South Bend Police were dispatched to Adams High School on an unconfirmed threat of gun violence.
Authorities say school administrators placed the school under a brief lockdown as multiple SBPD responded to investigate.
No active threat was identified, and the lockdown was lifted once the campus was deemed safe.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
