American Cancer Society laces up their shoes to fight breast cancer

SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The American Cancer Society hosted its annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk at Howard Park on Saturday morning.

Nearly 2,000 people were on hand to help raise money for breast cancer research. They successfully raised more than $200,000.

The walk also served as an enrollment site for a new ACS Long-term cancer prevention study. Researchers are working to determine genetic, lifestyle and other factors that could lead to or prevent cancer.
