Starke County face-to-face with severe weather
A winter weather advisory remains in effect this morning for northwestern Michiana until 1 PM EST this afternoon. Plan on steady lake effect snow if you live west of US-31 or within 10-15 miles of US-31 through the rest of this morning. The main concern out the door is low visibility causing near whiteout conditions at times, especially along roads oriented west to east. The lake effect snow tapers off in the afternoon as the main band shifts west toward NW Indiana, but briefly shuffles back into La Porte and western St. Joseph counties this evening for an additional inch or so. Highs are stuck In the upper 20s today and fall to the lower 20s tonight as the snow wraps up. The rest of the week is generally in a warming trend with highs in the low to mid 30s tomorrow through Thursday and upper 40s on Friday.
Today: AM snow. High 27.
Tonight: Snow showers early. Low 20.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. High 36.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 32.
